What does it mean to create products responsibly?
Working with wood for most of my life taught me early that materials have a logic to them, and that the best objects work with that logic, not against it. It’s the very same logic that drew me to design, it still shapes how I approach every project. My background is as much in making as it is in designing, prototyping, woodworking, and understanding how things go together and come apart. I’ve always been passionate about craftsmanship.
Attending the University of California, Davis, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Design, with a focus in physical product design. Taking advantage of attending a research-based institution, I was able to explore and grow my passion for working with biological materials and sustainable practices.
Today, I’m driven by the question of what it looks like to build with the materials the world actually has, where sustainability isn’t something you design around, but something you design from.
